Die lange Sommerpause ist nun endlich vorbei. Silent Sounds öffnet ihre Pforten und tischt (mal wieder) ordentlich auf.
Die gern gesehenen Leute vom Label „Freude am Tanzen“ sind (mal wieder) zu Gast. Ein Paket voller Freu(n)de. Ob es nun Douglas Greed oder Monkey Maffia (der von den Wighnomy Brothers) oder Taron-Trekka oder Gathasper ist…egal, dieser Abend verspricht Freude – Freude am Tanzen.

Douglas Greed started his path under this moniker in 2005 with the desire for a straight bass drum and the attitude of a music lover. Before he was on the hip-hop and drum and bass tip with the pseudonym „Real“ (Bionic Crew).

Most recently he is an organizer and recording artist still; despite his many outgrowths. Meanwhile the enthusiastic music lover and indiemusic connoisseur has managed a considerable number of releases on straightforward labels like Combination, Lebensfreude, Kindisch, Infiné, Dekadent, Ostwind, Acker and of course Freude am Tanzen, as well as diverse remixes.

In 2011 he opens his soul and presents with his debut album „KRL“ from the home team Freude am Tanzen, the status quo Douglas Greed. Floating freely from the dance floor dictation he crafts gallant hymns for the „Rave“ under the sheets. As a Bauhaus alumnus he has mutated into a multidiscipline Dougaholic: audio play, graphics, techno, live act, drum & bass, DJ, promoter – Mr. Greed is delightfully passionate about artistic manifestation.

The dance casino is treated properly with sonics, if excessive, and ardent as a live act (solo or with guests such as the singer Dehlia, Daniel Brandt). Indeed, the DJ with the golden hip swing, the black hearted, orange shimmering melodies.

Between Melborne, Moscow and a number of diverse metropolises he entertains the auditorium ever with a sonic insight that is straight-up amazing. There stands an inwardness, lust and curiosity without it being simply functional. To surprise himself and to sweep you along with him is his intention and drive for unforgettably impulsive nights.

The most club swarms usually receive Sören Bodner aka Monkey Maffia as half of the DJ-duo, which for 17 years brought the most eclectic exaltations to the dancers of the world. The Wighnom-y-lotion of classy techno is History!

One is the magic number, 2x – a man to a twin-sized bed is the custom. As an operator of the Freude am Tanzen/Musikkrause workshop and record store founder (Fatplastics) he loves the luminosity of the coarse and fevered dance music in every cubic centimeter of his soul. Vinyl is his daily bread, what pumps in his veins. Monkey belongs to the early 90’s as one of the tireless torch carriers whom bass drums provided the pace for his free spirit-sidekick the most club abstract. Peppered with a grotesque, lovely madness with a wink of the eye included.

Essentially he is an anarchistic selector with a sharp sense for the particular and distinguished note of a genre which has no name. Drilling through with his genre straddling style the borders of house and techno. Thereby he detected the often strict formalism of many a dance floor with a joyful stringency for surprise pickled with intensity with a dash of dramatics. Sounds seasoned as a real beat cuisine. Sometimes he seduces soft and sensitive – allowing the soul of this millennium to come on, and then he comes with a slap on the posterior.

Monkey Maffia – A real cosmopolitan with a deep love for his home, a gentleman in a bear suit, and a free thinker as opposed to a drone is known as one of the most creative distribution centers of electronic music. Explosiveness bound together with a deepness as his modus operandi. Tirelessly he spins on the controllers as if they were wheels, thereby a determined focus on the dance floor is brought forth which is then unfolded. With an ardor, the warmth can be heard as a thread through his interpreted design majesty. A richness of ideas yes, obsessive compulsive no – here the life is lived, not compelled!

Music inspires in many ways, especially when your cosmos has revolved around black discs and shimmering Disco balls for nearly half an eternity.

Crisder and DMS didn’t just yesterday fall for the groove of the diverse genres of electronic music. Since 1996 they have served as DJ’s of the night, who don’t simply pass on by, but instead remain a magical experience in the memories of their dancing audience. Up to now, important points along their musical journey haven’t only included clubs across the whole of Germany. They have also included appearances in Villa Bardzki and Aioula. Especially formative was their collective experience in Kollektiv „le auditeur“, which brought together many talented artists from Jena, Gera, Erfurt and the surrounding area, influencing the entire region’s sound. From all these experiences they have drawn the inspiration for their first collective tracks, which were cut from an overflowing tap of creativity and ideas, as well as their love for music- and not just in four-four time. In 2006 both artists decided not only create together as DJs but also to become active as a production team. As they began to work together under the name of Taron-Trekka the music scene began to pay attention, as they elegantly laid down deep beats, crackling sounds and purring melodies. Since then boundaries between Jena and Berlin have continued to be cleared, reshaped and broken in order to prove, with the help of new tracks, that this newly enlarged axis of music functions better and more productively then ever.
The stylistic reach of Taron-Trekka’s music is too large for just one drawer. The groove moves at once so elegantly and fully, that you’ll feel you’ve discovered house music all over again. Before you know what’s hit you, the beat and rhythm will lead you to the grey zone which divides house and techno, and you’ll feel as if you were dreaming on the dancefloor. There are many ways to rediscover the beauty of slowness and to inspire yourself anew; among which the music of Taron-Trekka easily belongs.
